Executive – Operational Risk, Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Occupational Safety and Health

With over 20 years of experience working in the financial industry and with technical experience in operational risk management and strategic crisis management, Ms. Natoya Brown was appointed to the role of Executive – Operational Risk, Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), effective October 2022.

Ms Brown is part of the Group Risk and Compliance Unit and has responsibility for the oversight and management of OSH for all member companies of The Jamaica National Group. She also serves as the Chief Crisis Manager, coordinating BCP efforts with critical stakeholders in the event of a catastrophic or major emergency to the operations of the Group or its entities.

She joined the JN Group in 2003 as an intern in Process Analysis and Improvement and in time, was promoted to Process Analysis and Improvement Supervisor. In addition, she has also held the role of Risk Analyst and Operational Risk and BCP Manager and was eventually promoted to Senior Manager – Risk and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).

Ms. Brown played a vital role in the development of the business continuity efforts that help keep the JN Group in a state of readiness for unwanted circumstances that may affect regular business operations. Most recently, she has been working closely with relevant stakeholders navigating our “new normal” during the global COVID-19 pandemic and, prior to that, spearheaded restorative efforts following the cyber attack in 2020.

She holds a number of professional credentials and certifications and is a Certified International Risk Manager, a member of the Business Continuity Institute, a certified ISO auditor and has both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from The University of The West Indies.
